Baku Boulevard, officially known as the Primorsky National Park, is a historic coastal promenade that has served as the social heart of Baku for over a century. Established in 1909, the boulevard was initially built by wealthy oil barons who sought to beautify the city's Caspian waterfront with lush gardens and walking paths. Originally stretching for just a few kilometers, massive redevelopment and expansion projects have extended the park to a sprawling 26 kilometers, curving beautifully along the crescent-shaped Baku Bay from the Freedom Square area down to the modern Flag Square and Bibi-Heybat district.
